Former foreign affairs minister Jaswant Singh has his back to the wall as pressure is mounting on the senior BJP leader to quit his post as Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha.

Meanwhile the US State department denying any knowledge of any spy in the Indian prime minister's office leaking nuclear secrets and have termed such a letter as fraudulent.

Now it seems that some members from within the BJP are also not in a mood to defend their leader. Jaswant’s going back on by-now-famous comment saying 'I know the mole', has put him in deep trouble as the Congress has moved a privilege notice against him for this U-turn on the issue.

"He has misled the House and cheated the people of this country," Congress MP, Narayana Swamy, claimed on Wednesday.

This controversy has also blown up in his party's face. On its part, the BJP, which had been planning to embarrass the government on the Indo-US nuclear deal, is now walking a fine line.
