Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has said that intelligence agencies have warned that more terrorist attacks were likely in the country as terrorist modules are on the prowl, waiting to target economic, religious and nuclear establishments anywhere, any time.
Speaking at the chief ministers' meeting on internal security in the Capital, the Prime Minister said that intelligence agencies have warned that terrorist modules and sleeper cells are operating freely in urban areas of the country.
Mr. Singh's comments come nearly two months after a series of bombings on commuter trains in Mumbai which killed over 180 people.
The Prime Minister also expressed concern over the fast expansion of the Naxalite movement. "We need a blend of firm but sophisticated and sensitive handling of Naxal violence," the PM said, adding that "special training for forces is a must for those engaged in anti-Naxalite operations."
