A student of class 10, from Jammu, has reportedly been arrested Friday with alleged links to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). He was reportedly held for throwing a grenade on civilians and some VIPs during the holy month of Ramzan..
The boy was arrested after receiving intelligence inputs about his links with the LeT cadres, a senior police official said.
Bashir Ahmed alias Nika of Koti village of Doda was deputed by the LeT to hurl a grenade on civilians and VIPs in Doda town as they would head to the mosque for offering prayers in the Ramzan month, Doda Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manohar Singh said.
However, Ahmed failed to hurl the grenade due to heavy deployment of police enroute to and around the mosque, he said, adding that the boy would be sent to interrogation to ascertain his involvement with the outfit's activities.
