Indopak Diplomatic Ties Worsen

By Network on August 19,2006

Blaming India for playing a 'water-testing game' with Pakistan, just days after India's decision to restrict the movements of Pakistani diplomats in New Delhi, Pakistan has followed suit. Pakistan says it is "constrained" to restrict the movements of Indian diplomats only because India was doing the same.

According to diplomatic sources, Pakistan has always followed a policy of Reciprocity as far as diplomatic ties with India were concerned.

Earlier this month, Indian diplomat Deepak Kaul was roughed up and expelled on charge of spying earlier this month. He was alleged to have left Islamabad without informing the Pakistani government.

Meanwhile there are unofficial reports in the Pakistani media that Pakistan is in the process of appointing new diplomats in New Delhi to replace those who have completed their tenure.
