Former New Zealand opening batsman and India’s first foreign cricket coach, John Wright 52, has written a book on his India stint called John Wright’s Indian Summers which is to be released in New Zealand next week. This is Wright’s second book after the autobiography Christmas in Rarotonga written in 1990.
According to John Wright, the greatest thing about being a part of Indian sport was that sometimes the Indian fans understood that winning and losing was part of the game but they just wanted a fighting performance. That is the way they celebrate the game. India is about celebration, it is about passion and it is unique. And really, I hope in some ways people will have a better understanding of how wonderful cricket and India is.
The Indian edition of the book will be published by Penguin Books India and is expected to be on the shelves by October.
