Dehradun: Panic Grips City After Daylight Acid Attack On Women

Panic has gripped the beautiful town of Dehradun after an unidentified youth threw acid on two young girls yesterday. One of the victims Rangoli is the sister of Actor Kangana Ranaut and is supposed to get married in a month's time.

The police have meanwhile prepared Sketches of the man after initial investigations and a police teams sent to Mandi and Una in Himachal Pradesh from where the girls hail.

An unidentified man yesterday knocked on the door of the rented house of the girls, saying he had brought a draft for Rangoli, and then threw acid on the two and fled. While Rangoli sustained severe burns on her face and body, Vijaya received minor burn injuries.

Although Acid attacks on women are not a new thing but there has been no effort on the part of government agencies to bring the crime under the attempt to murder act under the Indian Penal Code' as demanded by social organizations
