A Central
Bureau of Investigation court on Friday sentenced ex-Bollywood actress
Monica Bedi to five year prison in a passport forgery case. She faced
criminal charges of cheating and forgery under section 12 of the Indian
Passport Act.
Central
Bureau of Investigation or CBI, top Indian criminal investigation
agency had got Abu Salem, one of the most wanted Indian criminal and
Monica Bedi extradited from Lisbon in November 2005.
Monica
Bedi worked in few Bollywood films but she gained popularity after she
became the 'girlfriend' of Abu Salem who has considerable influence
over Bollywood.
However, on asking her relation with Abu Salem, she said: "Please do not link me up with anyone. I'm not anyone's girlfriend."
